On Monday, Leicester Crown Court learned call records and information retrieved from phones logged Ms Wandelt consistently asking Madeleine's mother for a biological test over the past two years.

Madeleine's disappearance in 2007 - at the age of three during a trip in Portugal - is considered the most publicized missing child cases and continues to be unresolved.

'I Am Not Seeking Money'

Another recorded message, presented in court, recorded Ms Wandelt declaring: "I know I'm overweight and not pretty like Madeleine used to be, but I know what I believe."

While another instance of Ms Wandelt's monologues with Mrs McCann's recording expressed: "Imagine there is a slight possibility that I am Madeleine? Then what? Wouldn't that be significant for you?"

"I do not need money, I maintain a living here in Poland, I just want to know," the message continued.

The panel was told that by means of emails, mobile messages and calls, Ms Wandelt requested a DNA test, forwarded youth pictures to her phone in a attempt to demonstrate a similarity to Mrs McCann's disappeared daughter, and claimed to have "memories" from a early life with the McCanns.

Robert Jones, a data specialist with Leicestershire Police who collated the information, informed the court there "showed no any responses" from Mrs McCann.

Ms Wandelt furthermore communicated with acquaintances of the McCanns, according to the phone records.

On 9 October 2024, the father responded to a call from Ms Wandelt to his wife's phone, declaring she had "a wrong number."

During that incident Ms Wandelt deposited a voicemail on Mrs McCann's recording stating "I won't give up and I will prove my position."

Court proceedings

The court heard the co-defendant developed a relationship through digital means with Ms Wandelt prior to accompanying her on a trip to the McCanns' residence in the county in last December.

Call logs demonstrated Mrs Spragg had contacted using WhatsApp to Mrs McCann to express the news outlets had characterized Ms Wandelt as "emotionally disturbed" but that she should be taken seriously in the time preceding the trip to Rothley, Leicestershire, in December 2024.

The court heard correspondence between the two individuals, in that autumn, discussing attempting to acquire Mrs McCann's biological evidence from her trash or from utensils at a restaurant.

"We have to make a stand," Mrs Spragg informed Ms Wandelt.

On the evening of the trip to their house, Mrs Spragg dispatched a message which expressed: "We are sat adjacent to the McCanns' home with our vehicle dark like detectives. I wanted to achieve this with someone else I didn't imagine I would be doing that with the McCanns."

The case ongoing.
